Just signed up for AS-but placed a starting bid w/ebay

Hi, I am new to AS, and yesterday, I found an item in ebay and placed a bid. Right now, I am outbid for the moment. When I signed up for AS, I put in my item number and told it what my max bid would be for that item. When it comes down to the final moments, will I still have a chance to sneek in, since I previously placed a bid on this item in ebay???
