I was an EBay virgin till I saw something that I really wanted and decided to take the plunge.

So, I put a bid in and saw it out bid by someone else. I bid again and within a day the same thing happened (Nibbling I think it is called). Then a friend that knew I was bidding emailed me to tell me to stop, let the other guy think I had given up and to use Auction Sniper to bid at the last moment.

I registered and set up a maximum bid of £200 pounds. The maximum bid stayed at £153 for days. I picked up my emails the day after the auction ended and found out I had won! Big Grin

The upshot of this is that I got a full leather interior for a Saab for ONLY £158!!!, I didn't have to spend Boxing Day sat in front of my PC, and I got to ruin the other guy's Xmas Wink

Good Work Fellas Cool

WELCOME to AS and the forum. Congrats on your win.

If you haven't found it yet, check out 'Bid Groups' Using a bid group allows you to enter many auctions into a bidgroup folder, tell AS you want 1,2,5 or whatever. AS will bid on all auctions in that folder till it's won the number you want, and then automatically stop.

Doing that, you don't have to wait for the first auction to end before entering data for a second. You can enter multiple auctions without the risk of winning more than you want.

Hope to see you post again !

Pah! Just lost out to a proxy bid.

It doesn't matter though as it was more than I was willing to pay anyway. However, just after I found out I'd lost I received a 'Second Chance Offer' from the seller.

A little bit of research reveals that they have a few of the item in question so I have taken Puppy Raiser's advice and set up Bid Group for another two of the sellers auctions for the same item. I might even get them for less than the Second Chance Offer if I am lucky Cool

Good game this 'innit Big Grin

Well, I got what I wanted for 26% less than the Second Chance Offer. (OK, it was only £4.00 less but it's the principal that matters). Also, looking at the bidding history, it would appear that AS allowed me out-snipe someone. They put their bid in 20secs before mine but as I had set my snipe to 5secs they didn't get the chance to try again Wink
