I have enough of a balance in my AS account to cover a recent Ebay win. Hope this isn't a wrong assumption but I'believe payments are made automaticaaly through AS, correct? If this is correct, will they use the funds in my AS account (My Snipes - Balance)to pay for my recent win or will it get charged to my CC on file?

If you are asking whether AS will pay the seller of your eBay auction, the answer is no.

AS places the snipe on your behalf and charges you a fee for a successful bid. If you have prepaid your AS account the fee alone will come out of that. If you've supplied CC details your card will be charged at the end of the month if your account exceeds US2.50.

Arrangements to pay the seller for your purchase are your responsibility.

I think you're mixing AS up with Paypal here.

Welcome to the forum, incidentally.

Ok, lets see if I've got this. When I ck my WINS page it shows "PAID" but that refers only to my AS snipe fees. Transferring money to AS from PayPal or keeping a CC on file with AS is only for snipe fees, not to pay auction payments, correct? Further, although AS doesn't pay for the item they do pay shipping insurance??? I'm sure this is all easily understood for the seasoned AS users but I'm still not clear on how I get insuracne via AS when I'm paying for the item through PayPal.

Sorry, one more thing, if I have a balance in my AS account how do I get that back? I'd prefer to do that rather than wait to use it up.

Thanks I appreciate the help.

From the shipping insurance FAQs:
How am I billed when I select shipping insurance?
The cost of insurance will be added to your normal monthly Auction Sniper bill.

Aimee43,
How did you hear about AS?
