I have seen a few items listed that say money order or cashier's check only and in bold print "NO PAYPAL!"

I was wondering is that is because the seller may be trying to eliminate the buyer's means of recourse if the merchandise is not recieved as promised? Or maybe he is just frustrated with Paypal?

Just a thought, I know there's been some funny business going on over there from both buyers and sellers. Cool

I was just thinking that if a buyer paid for something that was misrepresented, if a check or money order was used as payment then he or she would not have the same recourse such as a chargeback like you could do if it were paid for with paypal or a credit card.

By "funny business" I was referring to sellers who place an ad for one item but use a photo of another that makes the item appear to be better than it actually is. Cool
Jojo, there are also people who have been 'burned' by PayPal. I have seen at least one internet site dedicated to PayPal gripes.

Complaints often fall into one of two categories:
1) The buyer alleges that an item was never received, even though it was. PayPal reverses the money transfer. Then, it was the seller (unable to prove that the buyer did receive the item) who is without recourse, victimized by the unscrupulous bidder.
2) PayPal has 'frozen' the person's account because of activity that PayPal deemed suspicious. At one time (and probably still today), PayPal had serious problems with being the middleman enabling much fraudulent activity. These activities threaten PayPal's business/profits/reputation, therefore they took actions against accounts that were suspected of fraud. Apparently these actions extended even to the accounts of some honest users who had traded at some point with the suspicious accounts. For some people, this meant a lot of money was tied up, out of their control, for a long period of time.

I personally use PayPal and find it to be a deterrent when a seller does not accept it. However, after reading through the forums I've seen, I have decided that I will not keep a balance in PayPal that is bigger than I can afford to lose.
The last item I shipped I used priority mail and the charge for insurance and return receipt was only a couple extra bucks. I think that's a good way to be able to prove the item was in fact received because the buyer must sign for it. I'm surprised at how many things I purchased from ebay were all sent without return receipt.
You can get scales at any of the stores like staples, etc. A cheap one works as good as any. I got my labels online very, very cheap. They are setup with glue and all. I can't remember how many I got for I think ten dollars, but it was a lot. Do you remember anything about that, Jabber? You just click print on the paypal ship screen and it does it all for you.

LOTS & LOTS!!! Wink I think it is a couple thousand! They came in 2 cases in packs of 2 hundred, maybe 5 or six packs/case. I haven't finished my first pack of 200 yet!

<<Here's one>> that looks interesting.
I have a graphic program called Print Shop 20 and its fun. I do a setup for a 5x7
photo but insert the address as for a label. Then I add cartoons - photos etc.
on the label or Don't Open Until Christmas
I have printed photos on them and made
refrigerator magnets - sticking the label photo on magnet stock
I also scan & print recipe's and print them on the label stock and then stick them in my books on blank or dead pages.
I'm on my third box and wish I had bought
more.....I think they are more attractive on boxes than Duct Tape and easier for me to use.
