I understand the problems we all encountered Tuesday with an ebay confirmation page stopping our snipes. That was to be fixed by 9:30 pm. But even at 11:30pm, 1:30am my time, I lost a bid due to Auction Sniper's clock being about 10 minutes slower than eBay and the rest of the world. I watched this go on while I manually made 2 other bids on eBay.

Can anyone tell me for sure by now that we can all rely on Auction Sniper to do it's bidding properly tonight? .. I hope..
Let me know please if your bids have been working ok now.

Thanks!

What clock were you watching? If it's the one against the item on the My Snipes page then it's just a bit of code (written by a bored AS programmer one Sunday afternoon) that does not reflect the actual time of eBay or AS's servers. In fact, the code looks at your PC's clock...

AS's servers are kept accurate by atomic clocks apparently!

I'm not sure where the issue is, but first I lost a snipe during the Tues problem, and this morning I was reviewing my Active snipes to make sure everything was cool. Then I went to eBay to leave some feedback, and noticed that one of the auctions I wanted to snipe had ended last night. Well, AS is still sitting with my active snipe, and apparently is going to place it TONIGHT (one day late).

I clicked on the update prices button just to check to see if that updated the AS clock. Nope... nothing changed, so I guess AS is going to send my snipe tonight, more than 24 hours after I already lost the auction (and yes, the price in my snipe would have won if it had been issued on time).

That's two auctions I lost in two days. Is it time to look at one of the competing snipe engines?
Nope. I completely spaced on seeing the BIN notification!! I'm just glad that it was me being stupid and not some problem with the clock sync.

This still raises a question though.... if the auction ended early (whether through BIN or the seller just ended early), why wouldn't AS pick that up when you click on the Update Prices link in AS?? It seems that when AS goes to check the price, that it would see that the auction already ended....

I had a feeling you wouldn’t let us sneak by without answering that question. Take a look at this post from Sara (T.S. – Technical Support): >> Click here <<

Due to the excessive number of Welcome pictures, when you bring up that link the page may not be positioned on Sara’s post. If that happens, roll down to the bottom of the page.
