Hi Support

I don't seem to be getting any feedback - what's the prognosis for a fix to the broken International Searches. I nearly missed a bargain on www.ebay.co.uk because the AS search just didn't spot it.

The AS search is a brilliant feature, if only it worked on all Ebay and not just www.ebay.com

Hi Oli, How are you?

Hey, I'm testing this and I can't reproduce it. See I went ahead and put "winnington" on the search, I chose as you did "Any Country", "Any Currency", "All Categories", etc...

I compared the results that eBay give and is the same as the one we show. However, this results are the ones from the result in the US site.

I know what you mean, if you put "Any Country", should be any country... But eBay some how doesn't do it like that. And our searches are a reflexion of the results on the US site.

You can do the experiment... do the same search in http://www.ebay.com and compare the results to the one on http://www.ebay.co.uk and you'll notice the different right away.

I'm going to suggest now that maybe we should have some options to run the searches from somewhere else than the US site. I can't guarantee anything but I'll pitch the idea.

Despite putting 'any country' it will only bring up www.ebay.com results. Search for 'winnington' brings up loads of 'hits' in www.ebay.de if you use the 'any country' in Ebay's search but NOT if you use the AS search.

Likewise, I search for "****** instrument" - this missed a Lot in the UK which I found using the Ebay search.

This means that your foreign users (more than one I hope) cannot effectively use your search.

As mentioned, the AS search is an excellent idea - it just needs tweaking. Please tear the programmers away from the latest version of Doom and get them onto it! Smile
