insurance confirmation

after winning an auction i puchased shipping insurance from AS. i wanted to send confirmation to seller but when i tried the AS format said requiered field must be filled in but does not say what info they are looking for. if it is the sellers e-mail address i dont have it but AS should be able to send confirmation from item nr which it has on confirmation format.do you know what they are looking for....thanks phil

no i am not saying error message came up-i am saying i cannot send confirmation message because i dont know what to put in the blank space that is a required field before you can send message. i dont know what AS is looking for in that field so i cnat fill it in...phil

I just won so I can see what P's on about. It says:
Send an email for proof of insurance to the seller of your item. Email will be sent on your behalf using your current AS email address and will consist of the exact information displayed above.
Not hard to guess that the box is for the email address (I checked and it sent me an email).
Problem solved. (One thing I learnt in my IT career is to try things to see what happens - it's rare that anyone is maimed or killed!)

yep! and if you've won then you DO have the address - take a look on the winning email... That said, wouldn't it be nice if AS filled that in for you?

well since i dont have a copy of the winning message i will take your word for it and check next time. i will type in my e-mail address for this ONE so that i have a copy of the confirmation. i guess the seller realy dont need a confirmation since if anything happens the claim goes to AS INSTEAD OF THE SELLER OR SHIPPER. IS THAT RIGHT...PHIL

Ebay lets you see the sellers email if you win - it's in the email they send you - have you really deleted it? And why not test it on ANY email, say your own instead of 'taking my word for it'?

yes i do delete my winning notices. i pay for the item and keep the paid receipt until i recieve the item. i will check e-bay msg next time i win an auction but i still believe you. you have given me good advise in the past...thanks phil
