I really like Auction Sniper. I use it all the time. Not only to bid for me, but since my work will not let me look at ebay during business hours, I can track items prices with Auction Sniper.

However, if you REALLY REALLY want to get something, do NOT use Auction Sniper. Yes, it will come through MOST of the time, but not all the time.

I had an item last night I REALLY wanted. I bid $150 through Auction Sniper. I even put my time at 10 seconds...just to be sure.

Well, this morning I get a message "Did not win". And, to add insult to injury, the item sold for $19.38. Ouch!

So yes, Auction Sniper is great. But for those REALLY REALLY wanted items...bid yourself!!

I am still kicking myself. I even looked at the item with 3 minutes left on the sale and said to myself "Oooo, I got it". About 1 out of every 70 Auction Sniper bids are lost for me due to "bugs", why did this one have to be the one??

I’d amend that to say, “However, if you REALLY REALLY want to get something, do NOT snipe.” There’s always a risk that any given task, such as a snipe, will not be accomplished. The future is uncertain (at least for me it is). Once a proxy bid is in place, it’s there to stay. It’s always a balance between a potentially higher selling price (proxy bid) or the uncertainty of a snipe getting place. That holds true for manual snipes, sniping software, or a sniping service.
