if im already the high bidder

hi, first time sniper user here. i was just wondering if i have placed an opening bid on an item, and then it turns out no one else bids on it, will the sniper still slip the bid in and make me pay more? then again ive never tried out bidding myself on ebay, maybe it just ups my maximum without increasing the current price. so what can you tell me about this?

That's what it does, assuming your snipe is higher than your proxy bid (does the same thing as if you placed a manual bid/snipe).

P.S. I'd suggest discontinuing proxy bidding and only sniping.
