Unfortunately, the snipe is a more and more common thing:

Today I had my first trial.
It worked fine (!) and did all I could expect,
but in the same second
- there were just 6 sec.s left -
another robot (I think) kicked my #1-position.

For some days, you can have a look at:

Ok, I´ve no experience in running bot vs. bot, but obviously it could be neccessary to
1) raise the biddings
2) lower the default 5 sec.

I see, this is WORTH to try (/use).
But no final solution.Final solution is: being very rich ;-)) and just tell them, what you want ...

never the less "I feel much better now" ;-)

*he who bids loud, earning nothing*
Ent, your bid and the winning bid arrived simultaneously, six seconds before the auction closed. The winning bid was higher than your bid, and setting your bid time to five seconds instead of six would not have changed that. You bid your maximum amount at the very end, but why did you bid lower than that amount earlier in the auction? The whole idea behind sniping is to appear on the scene out of nowhere, without giving other bidders enough time to outbid you. Who is to say that your final bid amount would not have been enough if you hadn't made that earlier bid?

By the way, it's not possible to determine from the bidding record whether the winning bidder was also using a bot, as you say, or placing his snipe manually.
I understand your frustration Ent, but it is correct that you were out-bid. What I've learned from past snipes that I lost, and believe me I do lose some but right now, I've been slowly taking over lol, is that instead of entering an even round number like $20.00 for example, enter $20.25 or something to that effect, that way when the final bid is entered within the last 5 seconds or whatever time you have, it will override the last highest bid if 1. the highest bid is indeed $20.00 and 2. if you are in-fact the highest bidder at the end and still not being over bid by someone else's bid. Alot of people like to use nice rounded numbers for their highest max bid like, $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $25.00 etc...etc... That's why you want to place a max bid at odd ends. Such as, $5.75, $10.25, $20.50, or even 21.75, etc...etc.. that way like I said, your chances of actually winning the snipe is greatly improved! I hope I've helped, and hang in there! You'll get the hang of it Smile Wink Big Grin
