thats such a nice car Mike, I am quite envious. The styling and the mechanics were so ahead of their time. My neighbour has a frogeye sprite if you remember them ?, they call them bugeyes in the states I believe

There were quite a long list of 'firsts' on the DS - at least in Europe- disc brakes, power steering, semi-automatic with a normal clutch and gearbox, high-level rear turn signals, steering headlights, electronic fuel injection.....
Citroen poached all the best specialists from other companies in the 30s and 40s.
Yes - I do remember the Sprite quite well - they were made by the BMC conglomerate that sadly went because of a mixture of poor build quality and strikes. Plenty of bits still available, though.
Our DS has just come from a whizz round Normandy and put about 2000 km on the clock. Two rear seat passengers were asleep most of the time!
