Hi Weizman... and Welcome to the forum.

Being a sniper, you only get one shot at the auction. Bid the MAXIMUM you are happy to pay, and wait. If you win, great. If you win for less than your Max, even better. If you loose, be OK with the fact you didn't pay more than the item was worth to you.

Be aware that AS will attempt to adjust the lead time for you when eBay is very busy. This is especially true on Sunday evenings on exact quarter hours.

Also check out 'Bid Groups'. That's got to be one of the best features of AS.

That's me, my first snipe. And I'm still that way from time to time !

I have concerns about giving AS my ebay password. Of course ebay (and every other website in the world) tells you never to give out your password but in order to snipe I need to provide the site with my user name and password. Has anyone ever had a problem occur from providing AS with their password?

to our forum! I have never heard of anyone that had a problem. This IS a secure site. AS has thousands of customers and could never afford a slip up like that.

Two years, hundreds of safe auction wins, and AS has never goofed like that.

I know I need to trust the site but I am a little hesitant as I do know of people that have had problems from having their identity stolen (NOT FROM THIS SITE) and I certainly want to avoid those issues. You have both given be the comfort so I will move forward with using the site. Thanks again.

Hi and welcome. As everyone else has said:
This place is safe and a life saver.
Just be sure to bid the very max amount you will pay.
So that, if someone out bids you, you can shrug it off as they paid too much. Even if it is 1.00 more than yours.
Also, read the thread on times eg. 8 sec, 15, sec, etc. depending upon the time of day and day of the week.
Be sure to read the help tab and then bid groups. They are the best thing to come along.

We all get the jitters on some very important bids. Always remember. Unless you have a bottomless purse, some times you will lose to someone who has the big bucks to spend; and don't care how they spend it.
