I see all the time people bragging how many auctions they win and how happy they are. I'd like to go on record as saying I've lost 90% of my snipes. And I like it!

Ebay used to be full of bargains. Now often you see used products going for more than a new one would be. I refuse to pay that.

I have my saved searches set to alert me when a new product I want hits the market. Every other day or so I check them and set up my snipes. Then my mailbox overflows with reports saying I've been out bid. That's ok though because I have saved hundreds of dollars so far buying products on the cheap.

So for those of you that win a lot of auctions, more power to ya. For a confirmed bargain seeker like me, losing is great.

It took be 3 weeks and 10 failed bids to get one item I wanted. But I saved 250 bucks. (on a $500 item)

Which leads me to Airventor's rule #1 for ebay.

"Never let winning mean more to you than the product you are bidding on." Another one will be along soon enough.

Just found your post and probably should have invented this rule myself. I'm thrilled to lose an auction where the price is ridiculously high. On the other hand, it's great not to have to get into a bidding war with someone and end up paying more than I'd like. This is especially true if there are folks who watch your bids. Sniping is the perfect antidote for that! Cool
