I like AS less and less!

Trib - I think that error has been discussed to death in another posting. The title of the posting was Server Error in '/' Application. - did you not notice it

My 'problem' with AS is that it works 100% for me and I cannot afford to keep buying stuff! It may be 'cos I'm in the UK and the time difference comes into play. It may be that I understand how it works and what the risks are and work within those parameters.

I've had some problems with the searches (my persistance has paid off as they are almost working 100% now - thanks Charles!) but they're a 'value-added' feature and, whilst very useful, they're seperate from the sniping function.

I think you've made your point across the forum - you don't like AS - so maybe it is time to try out one or two of the competitors. Perhaps you'll like them better, perhaps you'll be back. No doubt you will let us know either way

Oli, trib complained in the section of the forum which is aimed at support functions. I suggest that we all disregard such complaints when they appear in the Auction Sniper Support section and comment only when they surface in other categories. I've been assured by Michael of AS Support that he does indeed monitor the AS Support section on a regular basis, so let's just leave it up to the experts to respond to problems.

Of course, trib didn't say much that anybody could respond to meaningfully. BLEH!

On the contrary Oli - What Trib is pointing out appears to be another .Net fault I suggest you go on to your snipes and click on the update link or try to add feedback to one of your wins.....I am also getting the same fault

It hasn't been all negative.

It probably has to do with the new web server we added a couple days ago.

We need to know the web page you were on, URL included, and what action you were doing that caused the error. Then a paste of the error would be good too.

Not everyone will see the errors because they only happen when your computer is at first talking to one of our webservers, then switches to sending it's replies to another, like when you push a button. It's like starting a conversation with one computer, then in the middle switching to the other computer and expecting it to know what you are talking about. Most of this stuff of course is supposed to be handled by the webservers automatically and we're trying to figure out why it's not and making the fixes.

Overall the addition of the new server is a great thing as the site should run more speedily during peak times because there are now multiple computers doing the job. I'm sure we'll have this worked out in the next few days.

I have just tried again, twice it was ok and then I started to get the following error again:

FINALLY, at least an idea of why 6 of my snipes didn't go through. Not an ebay blip--and I increased from 5 to 10secs and that didn't help.
Please I hope the fix is in the works as this is now about a month of the "new" server.

Just wanted you to know that the adition of a web server, even though initialy had problems with some web pages had no impact what so ever in the Sniper service -which actually places your snipe-. We have web servers and applications servers separate so a problem witht he web doesn't mess with the applications and viceversa.

Also, all the problems with the multiple web servers settings have already been fixed (about 2-3 weeks ago or so).
