I don't think you have to worry. It would only facilitate stolen accounts if AS were to sell our details or if they were stolen from AS.

AS is a business and depends on the trust of its customers (us) so it wouldn't do them any good if their security was anything but excellent.

I haven't been a user long, but there are people here who have been with AS for years and they are still here. I would guess that their accounts haven't been stolen as a result of using the service.

In general, I would say that on the web, never do anything you're not comfortable with. If you don't feel comfortable with using AS, then you don't have to....but I personally feel you would be missing out on a lot if you didn't. JMHO!

Jesa, AS has to have that information. This would be true of any snipe service. Just as you would have to give your "sister" that information to access your account in your behalf to place a bid, AS has to have it to access your account to place a snipe.

This was taken from their Privacy Statement. Smile

Personally, I feel it's safe to trust AS. They seem to have their wits about them and I'm sure the information we give them is kept very secure. Of course, you always have to be careful when giving out info on the net...after all, no one wants their privacy invaded or their information stolen out from under them. But granted, AS is a secure site, and I never heard of anyone's eBay info/account being hacked into or stolen while using this service. Not to mention, I have never heard of anyone's eBay account being hacked, period. So I feel it's okay to trust AS. Smile I didn't even think of account security when signing up for this service, because I had no fears of such a thing. It's a matter of trust.

I just opened my account. I was a little uneasy about using a sniper program but another collector told me he has yet to have any problems using this one.

If you are really worried about someone pirating your account, make sure you have two eBay profiles, one for any selling you may do, the other for buying. Only have the buying one linked to sites like this, that way the account a hacker would gain access to would not be a seller's account and make it a little harder for them to use it for anything like selling product they never had in the first place for a lot of money.
