Thanks to all who replied to my last post. I was so upset when I wrote that. After 2 unsuccessful tries at sniping, I finally won one! I'm so excited! I really wanted this item so I bid at the very top of my price limit. I got it for almost $10 less than my high bid. I'm wondering if someone else tried to use a sniping service for this same item. If you look at the bid history, you'll notice there was a bid made at the same exact time that my bid was made. I won because my bid was higher. I don't know how to add a link, but the auction number is 2838082200. Isn't that wild! If I hadn't bid high and used auction sniper, I would have never won that item. Thank you auction sniper!

He might have been using a sniping service, or sniping software. Before AS, I placed several last seconds snipe by hand, so he may have done that as well.

But what the heck, the only important thing is that you won. Wink

"He" is a she, girl's size 14. She is certainly using sniping software -- now. I went back and checked every auction in her bidding history -- as of June 4 she was "sniping" with 51 seconds left, 42 seconds left, and 34 seconds left. However, on June 6 she sniped with 5 seconds left, on June 7 she sniped three times with 5 seconds, 6 seconds, and 7 seconds left. Her last winning bid before #2838082200 was with 4 seconds left. This lady obviously went from manual snipes to sniping software. Note that she also placed her bid in the 2838082200 auction with 7 seconds to spare.

She does seem to have a problem with max bid amount, though -- she is often the last bidder, but only the winning bidder maybe half the time. If she improves in that regard, and resists the temptation to put in two bids a few seconds apart, she could be a force to be reckoned with. Eek
