JDD, I'm curious as to what your answer will be? Did you cancel your snipe in plenty of time and make sure it was off the My Snipes page? I have had this happen to me; I cancelled the snipe with days to spare, the Item was off the My Snipes page, yet the Snipe still went thru and I had to foot the bill for something I decided I didn't want. So I'd really like to hear from you please.

I seem to be the only one reporting this snafu and I'm told unless I can prove it by saving the Cancelled My Snipes page data, nothing can be done about it. Since I started saving the data, it hasn't done it to me again naturally! Roll Eyes
shellstoop - I looked at some of your prior posts. For what it's worth, I believe you. Hopefully it won't happen to you again. Sounds like you found a "fix" by saving the Cancelled My Snipe page data. Bugs never happen when you're prepared for them.

Hi:

I was actually searching this forum to find out if there was any data on auctions placed after being canceled.

I canceled a recent auction that was listed with 2 hours before the close, and it responded by removing from my list. Later I got an email from eBay saying I had won the auction! I don't understand why it's happening if it isn't possible.

I should also mention that the server for auctionsniper has been giving error messages that it is too busy today. I've had to repeatedly try to get in. Any connection?

Thanks,
David Eek

So either your didnt cancel it, and confirm it was really canceled by making sure it wasnt on the My Snipes page anymore.

Or... you canceled it with less than 2 minutes left, which is too late. We've already queued it up to be sniped and the computers doing the sniping cant stop it.

WRONG!! I tried to cancel a snipe 6 hours out & it would not cancel, snipe was placed anyway. That day (Sunday) your site was having multiple issues, no support access, snipes not going thru, etc, etc. It's all posted around here by various people. It's amazing how it seems it's always someone else's fault & never A/S's problem or issue. Keep up this kind of customer service & you guys won't last long.
Here's what I was instructed to do after canceling a snipe: Press Alt PrintScreen, then go into a Word Program and when the screen comes up press Ctrl V. This transfers the My Snipes page showing the Canceled Snipe language & Item# to the Word file. I then name it with the number of snipes I canceled and the date and save it. This is meant to record the Canceled Snipe and give me evidence in case my Canceled Snipe should then be sniped. Since I started doing this recording method none of my Canceled Snipes has been posted erroneously. After the date has come & gone, I delete the saved My Snipes Cancelations from the Word Progam file.

For the record, the snipe I canceled was done two days before auction end and it was definitely off the My Snipes page. Note: I confirmed it was really canceled and made sure it was not on the My Snipes page anymore.

I take copies of the My Snipes page and color accent the Snipes and take a copy of the eBay Items Watching page and color accent it too. I make sure what I have on each is identical. When I canceled and removed it from the My Snipes page, I also removed it from the Watch page on eBay and the paper copies were in my trash can. I then checked impending snipes in advance of that day and photocopied all AS snipes for days to come again color accenting items by Seller and that particular snipe was not on AS. I didn't expect it would be as I had canceled it. Then I updated and color coded copies each day thereafter. But on the day of the canceled auction I received an eBay Congratulations you Won! notice and the AS Snipe Won notice in my email. As soon as I received these I went looking on AS on the My Snipes page for two more auctions I had also canceled two days previously, and those two snipes were set to go off at the end of the My Snipes page. They had just appeared out of nowhere. They both said "Ready." I Canceled them a Second time and luckily averted having three canceled auctions I would have had to pay. I know I didn't Snipe the items twice because by then AS had a correction in place that prevents sniping the same item twice.

So I did not snipe it twice and I did not try to cancel it with less than 2 minutes left, yet a canceled snipe was sniped. And, two more canceled snipes would have been sniped as well, but luckily they ended long enough after the first snafu so that I caught them and was able to Cancel them AGAIN! That's the truth and nothing but the truth so help me AS Support!

I set a snipe on an item and cancelled it, yet I still won it. AS says I should check on My Snipes to make sure it is cancelled. Guess what? My Snipes doesn't work right now, and it didn't work when I cancelled my bid. Is there anyone else that is unable to view their snipes?
