Everytime I try to use the Leave Feedback button through the Auction Sniper website for auctions I have won it gives me an error message. It says:

Sorry, the item number you entered, either does not exist or does not apply.
You may also receive this message if you have already left a feedback comment for the same user with the same item number.
"
The item does exist and I have not left a feedback for this auction. It started a few weeks ago and we (AS tech support and myself) have been unable to figure out what the problem is. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? ANy help would be great since I would like to go back to using the AS Leave Feedback button like I was before. Thanks.

This is for an item I have not left feedback for. None of the items in my wins tracker let me leave feedback.
I have been attempting to get this fixed for almost 2 months (I was dealing with a tech support rep for a month before posting here) and have seen this issue slip into the desk drawer of obscurity. I have been a regular user of AS for some time and have really enjoyed many features but the problems I have had with this particular feature leads me to believe that either the programmers have not been informed of this flaw or just do not care. It has been reported by many users and we have been very patient for at least a month but if this was another piece of software (either online or on a PC) it would have had a fix out by now or the code would have been dissected and fixed by a real programmer. Please do not think I am just talking about something I know nothing about because previously I worked for the largest provider of software for tax preparation personnel, lawyers and consultants in the world. Yes, I was a phone tech support technician and as soon as we had complaints about our software as wide as this one we would seriously look into it. I realize that the actual owners of this service care nothing for the users except that they keep using it and the money keeps rolling in but the people that manage the program should seriously look into this issue before they are looking for new jobs because the users are tired of fighting a faulty program and stop paying to use it. I will continue to post to this topic to keep it at the top of the list of topics until something is done other that the occasional posts by one tech support person asking us to post error messages that, if they had a database system in place to look up this issue, would see I have reported the error message I get through the help request section of this site (which I have been waiting almost a month for the "2 business days" response.) I am done ranting about this issue, for now.

Please dont, I dont want an email box full of support related items. It belongs as a support case.

I've been leaving feedback just fine. So perhaps a few of your items it wont leave them for or your account. When stuff works for us, but not for a few users it's slower to be fixed because it's not a widespread problem.

Sorry Sara, but I dont think that response did this thread any favours. That was basically waving a red flag in front of a bull.

It kinda read that *its working for you, so its not a priority.*

I understand if the support crew has other things to work on, the feedback system isnt a money earner after all - its a nice little extra that we obviously appreciate and would like to have operational.

I can also understand you not wanting a box full of links to this thread. Maybe if the members affected with this problem knew you would be looking at this problem in the near future, everybody would be happy Smile

Hi there, I'm trying to reproduce the problems your experiencing so that we can fix this.

our test accounts properly leave and reflect feedback left.

I have answered the only 2 support cases that I saw open regarding feedback that had no replies to them yet.

If you haven't filed a support request and are experiencing problems leaving feedback, please file a support request we will have to reproduce the problem for your account.

Hi, Mike. Please refer to my post of Jan. 21st. I waited until the sixth day after sending the links, and when I had no reply, I decided to leave the feedback myself, out of respect for the sellers.

My feedback function is still not working. In addition, maybe you can look into this: on some of the items where I've left feedback, the Wins Tracker window does not show that I have left the feedback, even when I update wins information repeatedly. AS is a victim of its success. You've got such a magnificently useful program, when one or another of the bells and whistles breaks down, it seems like a bigger deal than it really is, because it gives people like me the idea that maybe if the bells and whistles are too tough to fix, what's going to happen if something big goes down? What if all my data is lost? What if snipes malfunction?

Quick, effective attention to the small problems demonstrates control of the big ones. And this small problem is annoying enough people to merit immediate action. Not months of neglect. I had been noticing the problem for weeks before I posted a question. There must be plenty of folks who just ignore the problem.

Ok, the reason darkfoxgraphica items couldn't have feedback left for them is that the seller's userid wasn't being pulled in on his items. I am not sure why this was happening to him and wasn't able to reproduce that.

The update win info button always assumed the seller id was correct so it has now been changed to update the sellerid if its missing. This change will be present in the live site in a few hours.

you will see that emily007 has left feedback for you for this item...

but if you look at your feedback left for others:

you will see that your feedback for emily007 is nowhere to be found.

I'm trying to see if this is any way our fault but I think its an eBay bug, and if eBay gives wrong information to us about your feedback then we're going to give you wrong information about your feedback Frown

This has nothing to do with my ability to post feedback on eBay from the eBay site. I have manually posted all my feedback since the AS function ceased to work. I have checked every feedback I posted, and they’re all there.
I don't understand why you would not see them. Did you check all of the items I mentioned in my post of 2/9? They all show up on eBay, and none show up on AS.

If there is a problem with eBay, it is a problem that prevents the AS function from working, and that’s an AS problem, is it not?

Please let me know if you need any further information. Now I'm interested in finding out what's wrong, not simply in getting the feedback function back.

Here's a good one for you. When I went to the feedback link you sent, that you said did not have Emily's feedback, sure enough it wasn't there. It was there on her feedback page, but not on mine.

Then, I left feedback manually for (3657193520) and (2983125350). On AS, both of them show I've left "positive" feedback. Both the sellers' pages show my feedback.

I immediately went back to the link you sent, to my feedback page, and guess what? My feedback for Emily is there now, but the ones I just posted are not.

As I said, the two new posts show up on AS as "positive," while there's nothing listed for Emily.

Something is obviously going on at eBay, but it seems more complicated than it looked before.
