Question. Sometimes I bid through eBay, typically to "fish" to first see if I can exceed the max placed bid, before I bother considering the item. I might fish and become the highest bidder at, say, $10. So I think, ok, so far so good, nobody has placed a proxy of a zillion dollars. But it could be an hour or so before the auction ends, and I'm willing to pay more. So then I set up a snipe for, say, $20.50. And my question is, if nobody else bids will I snipe MYSELF?? And outbid my own bid placed via eBay, thus paying the AS fee plus an additional increment to eBay?? Or does AS somehow know that it's already me? Thanks!!
