Correct, if no one else bids, you would win the auction for $50. AS does nothing special with your increment; it simply submits the $200 bid and eBay applies as much of that as is necessary to make you the high bidder. What AS does so wonderfully is sending it with only seconds to spare, minimizing the chance of a counterbid. Plus, you do not have to be at your computer when the auction ends.
Most of us recommend that you use an unusual amount, like $201.46, in case some one else before you were to bid the same round $200 figure. (Ties go to the first bidder.) Also, set the snipe to go with eight seconds left, with an additional 15-20 seconds if the auction ends exactly on a quarter, half, three-quarters or on the hour itself. These are busy times, because of pricing specials eBay offers sellers to end at those hours. AND ON SUNDAY EVENING, eBay's busiest time of all, be sure to add another 15-20 seconds, lest your bid not get through in time, due to overloaded eBay servers. Good luck!
