The seller is wrong. You can explain to them that this is a sniping service, and not a payment service. Anyway, they would have to be registered with AuctionSniper even if it were possible, which it ain't. He accepts Paypal, and can't refuse to accept your payment, unless something in the auction excludes you from bidding.
Well i been a member for 3-4 days and cant say that i have any negativ feedback yet Smile I will post him a e-mail and tell him that it cant be done. copy of his e-mail to me.

The payment have to be in the form of money order or bidpay pay. You can do that by going to http://www.auctionpayment.com. We cannot accept paypal because of the amount and your feedback scoor. Thanks for understanding. The info you need to pay me is

Would have been more appropriate had the seller put that in his listing. All I saw about Paypal was this:
"For US buyers paying by paypal, must have confirmed address, and will only ship to confirmed address, no exception."

Oh well, all depends on how much you want to exchange email with the seller to get them to accept Paypal or not. Could be a major waste of time. They have a lot of feedback, so it's doubtful they will be open to suggestions.
The answer is comparatively simple - AS has confused everybody!

Lets take the poor buyer Kaiarne, he is confused because the seller is confused.
Why is he confused - because AS is confused!

What the seller said was "The payment (has) to be in the form of money order or (a) bidpay pay(ment)

Fine, most people would understand his caution with a newcomer with zero feedback wanting to buy an expensive item. So Kaiarne, he simply wants payment by Money Order because he feels it's safer.

To do this, he should have sent you this link:

Bid Pay

However he is confused by AS who have launched a money order payment service called
Money Mover

Now logically if they have registered a name like:
"auctionpayment.com" you would think it should lead to Money Mover. Does it? Of course not, the tortured logic of AS marketing deem that it should resolve to AuctionSniper.com

Logical? Sensible? Ask AS!

Eh? The guy's a buyer not a seller!

R2

  • AS doesn't pay eBay accounts! True
  • Did you turn off "instamail" when you signed up? If not, go to your My Snipes page, modify account, and turn it off (if) ticked!! Correct - if on
  • The guy's a buyer not a seller! - True

Eh?

Great Suggestion

Actually, joking apart I think it should now be considered seriously by all forum memebers. There are a number addicted to quoting here and I am as bad as the next man, well not quite - some are well up the curve to acute addiction - advanced quoteitis.

I think the problem R2 is the human interface - see that first little reply button? Its far, far too easy to just hit that.

Come on folks you know R2 is talking sense (no I didn't add "for once", thats just in your minds!)

Please lets have an unofficial agreement between the old hands. Prove to the world we can agree on something!

IF IT'S THE NEXT MESSAGE, DON'T QUOTE!

Quite right R2, it should read
IF YOURS IS THE NEXT MESSAGE, DON'T QUOTE THE ONE ABOVE!

P.S See proof positive that two members of this forum can agree on something!

Well, R2, all of this a surely gotten me confused! I thought the person(buyer) asked or at least was stating that she was told to go to AS to pay for her purchase. The seller would not accept her paypal. Since I assumed she did not tell the seller she sniped, I did assume the seller got an Instamail. Then, I assumed it made the seller mad and thus the seller's response to the buyer! Confused

This is one of those times I’m going to agree with Serenity. I didn’t under stand R2’s “Eh” post, nor did I understand Camera’s “Eh” post (I was beginning to think I was in Canada). I also found the bullets in Camera’s “Eh” post to be additionally confusing, because of trying to sort out who said what. There are some times when using the [quote] function might be redundant, and having those layered quotes can be very confusing, especially when the author isn’t included in the quote, but it would have made it easier for *me* to follow Camera’s post with a little more attention to detail.

I’m trying to put myself in kaiarne2005’s shoes, or any new forum member. This topic has gotten into a discussion of to-quote-or-not-to-quote, and the regulars trying to sort out what each other said or meant. It seems that a lot of these threads end up in a similar “to and froings”.

Another suggestion, since this has *also* turned into a suggestions topic: It’s not necessary that everyone understand everything that everyone else posted. Sometimes (I said, “sometimes”), maybe (I said, “maybe”) it’s best just to scratch one’s head and move on.

Hopefully this hasn’t been a toe-stomper.
