Most other services do none of the above. They rent shared space on computers and networks which they dont control. They thus can not ensure proper security precautions are being taken care of.

I think that was quite evident when our largest competitor had their database stolen and the criminal then emailed all the customers their data proving he'd stolen it. Oops.
