I have gone for a lead time of 5 seconds. Do you think this will be enough or have I left it too late.
I really dont know what to do for the best as I have a feeling that there are a few people ready to snipe on this item as well.
This is a kind of once in a lifetime item and I dont want to risk not sniping in time or placing to low a bid.
HELP!!!!!!
Five seconds is probably fine, but if you're not sure you might want to extend it to 8 or 10 seconds. That's not enough time for anyone to react, and the slightly longer lead time would be helpful in case there's a backup on eBay's circuits. I always use 8 seconds unless it's ending on the hour, half hour, or quarter hour, especially on a weekend. Then I use 15 to 20 seconds.

Good luck!
I always think really hard about what the most I would pay for the item. Then I add another buck and convince myself that that is just a little more than I really would want to pay.. then add another buck or two... Just so when I do get outbid I know for sure they bid more than I would have paid. I am sure everyone on eBay has had one of those "I should have bid a little more" moments.
