I read some discussions about this, and wondered how a seller could find out if you used a sniping program? Program or not, sniping is usually way it's done, even though Ebay frowns against it. Do they think we're idiots? Are we suppposed to throw out some super high bid and walk away? Rediculous.

... unless you choose to use the Instamail notification option offered by AS. It sends an email to your seller thereby giving away your method when a successful snipe has been placed. I turned mine off. See below:

How do I turn off InstaMail?

Login to AuctionSniper http://www.auctionsniper.com/ click on Modify Account. Under Preferences scroll down for InstaMail and uncheck the box. At the bottom of the screen, click on Update My Account, log out, and you're done.

A friend of mine prefers to manually snipe, though she is registered at AS. We are using a T1 here and I've seen her get within 4 seconds Eek so just because a snipe is close in time does not mean it was placed using software - by the way.
