Hello all,

I have been sniped twice by the same user on Ebay and I have had enough. I am new to the service so I would like some advice on how to beat this guy at his own game.

As I understand it, although I have very limited knowledge on the subject, the only way to outsnipe him is to set a higher max bid or a shorter lead time? How many seconds do you suggest I use if I know another bidder is using a sniper service, also.

Thank you for helping out a determined newbie!

Higher bid.

8 to 12 seconds, but it really doesn’t make all that much difference. AS will increase the lead-time if it “thinks” ebay’s response time is slow. So, don’t be surprised if AS places your snipe 40 or 60 seconds earlier than you requested, even if ebay’s response time isn’t slow. And, don’t be surprised if the other sniper has enough time to place multiple snipes, should they be foolish enough to be placing manual snipes.

Happy sniping.

The sniper that is willing to pay the most wins, same as proxy bidding.

On the very odd chance that 2 snipers snipe exactly the same amount....the sniper who's snipe registers first wins.

[I dare anyone to say that sentence 10 times really fast whilst drinking red wine]
