I failed my 2nd bid. Feel upset.
I checked up the winner's bidding history, and found by surprise that many times, his winning bidding time was ealier than others but his price was higher.
How could this be possible?

It is hidden because you never know what the high bidder's maximum bid was, before, during or after the auction.
The one exception is if the winning bidder is less than one increment from the second highest bidder. Then one can tell the high bidder's maximum bid.

Also, Dutch Auctions are another exception, but no one knows how they work anyways.
But as a leading bidder, we should see the name. The internal ebay proxy does require you to place your bid on their server and only display the hihgest bid needed to maintain your leading position.

It's gotta be another type of sniping things that can fool the sever's clock as the time the snipe was placed onto the sniping software's clock, as opposed to be ebay's clock.

I just won a bid with AS and the final price is just one increment then the second highest bid. The second highest bid was nowhere to be found during the auction but all of a sudden, her bid came up 1 day b4 mine. Thankfully, I was fully expecting it and willing to pay more so AS snipes for more on my behalf.

When I placed the sniper bid yesterday, which was not shown on eBay's site, "deermere's bid at US $5.10" was the highest. All of a sudden, beatah123 bidded on Feb 16th and AS bidded for me jlee_28 on Feb 17th and thank God she's 50 cents shied.

Help!!! I hate hidden bidder!!
beatah123 was hidden for sure cos she was nowhere to be found on Feb 16th and all of a sudden, she came up with US$21.05 bidded 1 day b4 I did.

Somebody fools the ebay's server clock. Because the definition of who wins put first priority to price, second priority to time. Therefore, this hidden sniping thing is a killer.
JLee,

No one can change the timestamp for a bid. beatah123’s bid was placed and recorded on the 16th. Now, once beatah123 placed their bid, the auction price would have been $5.60 (deermere’s $5.10 bid plus one increment of $.50).

Also, before beatah123’s bid, the auction price would have been $1.25 (snoopy4world’s $1.00 bid plus one increment of $.25) and deermere was the high bidder.

Did you bring up the auction after beatah123’s bid on ebay, or were you watching it thru AS?

I hope this helps?
No it's not. I monitored the auction till one day b4 to place it on auction sniper and I watched the count down till the end. At the time the snipping bid was placed, the winning price was $5.10. Next time, I'll record the whole thing to you guys, event by event but we dunno who has this system out there.

They're not changing the time stamp. They just have ways to record their bidding time one day earlier though the bid wasn't placed till a few seconds b4 auction ends.

Same thing happened yesterday. Dat's why I raised my sniper's bidding max and I won.

JLee,

Maybe it’s my computer, but mundinho’s $36 bid was place 17:41:47 EST and their $31.50 bid was placed 17:41:17 EST. That’s not the same time, but 30 seconds difference. Looks like mundinho placed two different bids, 30 seconds apart.

If you’re convinced that these bidders have some why to place “hidden” bids, you might want to contact them and ask them how they do it. You could also get on the ebay forums and see if anyone has some information.
