Well,
I got two different items today using AS and I am very pleased. I had the luxury of watching (both of them) the basically same items going to other bidders just prior, and one after I got mine. (I don't know if you can follow that but nonetheless...)
I was a bit surprised on the 2nd, as someone just lost yesterday at a price 20.00 less than I got it for today. (good timing-or the force, or just the favor of the auction gods were smiling down upon me!!). I have been watching for this particular one (which is no longer mfg'd.) for the past 3 months and I think I got for the lowest I have seen.
I must say that I went a little higher than I "wanted" to go on the first-but I am glad I did. someone would have "gotten" me by about 15.00 on a 200.00 item. Since it is (almost) exactly what I want for the money; it really does pay to PUT IN YOUR ABSOLUTE MAX!!! (go for what you would have gone...in the heat of the moment!!
I'm glad I tried it out first on something I know I wouldn't get-as I didn't realize that you cannot modify OR cancel within the last 2-3 minutes. I later saw that mentioned on a post. It would have been nice to know up-front but... fiddling around at the last minute(s) kinda defeats the whole purpose/concept....donut??
Best of all-they were 2 of my 3 free snipes!!
