I have no clue whether that is a common saying or whether it was just my Mum who used to say it when on the way home from vacation.

We start the loooooonnnnggggg journey home today, 2.5 hours to Kansas City, 3.5 hrs to LA, then 16 hrs to Melbourne. Pfffffffffff - will I be glad when its over!!

I have had a ball though, my only complaint was some ignorant guy at the bowling alley that wanted to argue the merits of US v's Australia. Considering he has never been outside of Missouri and never to Australia - he didnt have much of an arguement

Of burgers and root beer -

I like out local In-N-Out burgers. Just hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, shakes, and sodas, in those white and red cardboard cartons. Very yummy! They have a "secret menu", not published but known by afficianados. http://www.zenlemur.com/innout.shtml

My husband and kids have gone crazy about root beer. A local neighborhood deli carries 30 or 40 kinds, many imported, and holds tastings, so that customers can compare Sparky's, Sprecker's, Virgil's, Root 66, Briar's, etc., etc., etc. It is surprising how different a basic commodity like root beer can taste.

(Ah, but I'm a tea connoissier. Now THAT'S a civilized drink!)
