HI, I'm New to Ebay & AS

Hello everyone!

Quick Question: How come I can't see my AS Max BID on my ebay account? Is it not suppose to show up until my 5 sec lead time?

I really, really, really want the item I am bidding on and if I don't win I will absolutely be crushed! Wish me luck as a newbie! Smile

Also is a 5 second lead good enough? That means AS will bid until the last 5 seconds right? Should I put down a lower lead? But reading from everyone else's posts 5 seconds tends to be good.

If you set your snipe at 5 seconds tha tmeans AS will not send it to Ebay to place til then. You willnot see it til aprox. 5 seconds before the auction ends. Think of sniping as a last moment, placed one time, proxy bid.

I use 8 seconds normally, but for aucions that end on the hour, half, or quarter, I add aprox, 10 extra seconds and for auctions that end on Sunday night between 5:30 and 8 PST, I add 15 seconds to my snipe. These are busy times.

It's so great to see Mrs. M, Rick, and the gang still here. I posted a couple times to this forum, several months ago, but only drop in occasionally now when I'm feeling chatty. Marie, you can trust these people!

I use a 5-second lead time and so far I've only lost when I wasn't willing to bid high enough. But I try not to bid on items that end at the busy times Mrs. M mentions, just because I'll get outbid so often.

Sunday really seems like "throw your money away day" on eBay - lots of bored people sitting around waiting for the work week to begin.
