This is what Sara has to say about using bid groups when the ending times are close:

According to this, you'd have plenty of time. If you want to play it safe, put the earliest and latest auctions into a bid group and then snipe regularly on the other two.

Hmm Ok, So if I put 2 of them in bid group, and won 1 the other would cancell out?? I would like to win as many as possible

also cant seem to find bid group option anywhere, is it in the import wizzard

Bidgroups are in: My Snipes --> Manage Folders. There's a tutorial somewhere (in the FAQ?) that puppy keeps posting, maybe he'll pop in with the link

Yes - if you put two in the bid group, and specified you wanted to win 1, then the second one would cancel if you won the first. If you put all 4 in, and said you wanted to win 3 then you would win a MAX of 3 (if you were the high bidder in each of them). Make sure when you are adding the auctions that you add them to (or move them into) the bid group folder.

My suggestion to only put two into a bid group was if you were concerned that AS wouldn't have enough time to calculate your 'win' status. According to Sara (see above) you would have plenty of time.

Oh - I don't suggest that you 'reuse' a bid group. Delete it once you are done with it and create new ones as needed. Otherwise you'll have to remember to 'up' the number of items you want to win, and it gets confusing.

Wait... If you want to win as many as possible, DON'T put them in a bid group.

Enter each as a regular snipe!! AS will bid on all of them!!

But in this case he said he wanted to win 3 of 4 auctions (see original post).

And he was referring to my post that said to bid normally on the other two, so as long as he was the high bidder he would have won 3 out of 4 - which is what he originally asked.

From his original post I got the impression he was more concerned about the auctions ending so close together.

Nah, bid groups are a piece of cake.

Click the Manage bid group button.
Give the folder a name & description if you want.
Tell it you want to win 3 items.

Then just add the 4 snipes into that bid group folder.

That's it, simple as pie. If your max is high enough you'll win 3 out of the 4 items.

that is where it becomes a pain in arse

Check the little boxes to the left of the item #'s you want to move.
Next to the 'Cancel' and 'Move to' buttons there is a drop down menu.
Select the folder you want to move them to.
Click on 'Move to'

If you want to see all snipes (including ones in folders) there is another drop down menu next to 'Choose Folder:' Select 'All Snipes'

You can also set your 'default' view to 'All Snipes' by:

Click My Snipes tab
Click Modify Account
About half way down under Preferences / Display Options
Make changes and click on 'Update My Account Information' all the way at the bottom.

ok, I got the items all set in bid groups with a 5 sec lead time as suggested
now I am reading in the Support forum that ebay is slow to accept bids tonight and may need 30 to 60 sec lead time

any advice

Yea, look under the support topic. VERY slow response times tonight. If your auction ends in the next 3 hours or so, I would sure think about a much longer lead time, or try to manually bid as a backup.

Jet, read what is happening! Better adjust them IF they fall in that time frame.

Puppy, isn't it only through 8:30 PST? It is a little after 8 there now.

You could be right. I was thinking through 10:30? Let me see if I can find something.

Yep, till 8:30 pst. But with the trouble tonight I'd push that out farther, and add more time than that.

mine end at 9:30 thru 9:33

Jet, I just don't know what to tell you. If they are important may be you should add a little time and even do a backup hand snipe. I just don't know!

I'll try 30 sec. if I do not win them no biggy, think they may go above my max anyway
