You can get free snipes by putting your credit card on file with us or by sending us a paypal payment Smile

Seriously though the only way to get free snipes is by referring other people, or when you lose a snipe for a reason we deem as being eligible in which case our losing email usually notifies you of that.

You must know someone. Nearly anyone who bids on eBay would find us useful. Try talking to friends at work or school. Maybe a spouse would know someone as well.

You'd be suprised at how often eBay comes in converstations with random people I talk with and who are surprised and happy to learn that a place like AuctionSniper.com exists. I know many of them come to the site and enter me as their referal because my free snipes goes up on my account.

Since I sometimes sell on eBay I chit chat in line at the post office. I was getting my car fixed one time and the guy who wrote up my trouble on the computer was surfing eBay when I walked up. I shoulda bribed him for a free oil change not to tell his boss he was surfing the net. But anyways I told him, but he was already using us! What are the odds of that! Another guy here said his girlfriends professor was raving about us. They restore old houses and buy things on eBay and I guess were talking about sourcing methods for their restorations or something. More likely he was just trying to drum up some free snipes Smile

Anyways I'm sure you can think of a few ways. Get their email addresses and then use our referal form and if they sign up you'll get credit.

If you cant get their email just make sure they know your userid so they can enter it and make sure to tell them to enter it. It's best to get their email so that you can send the invitation and they wont forget. We dont store their email or yours or anything else when we send the referals. We only use it to send it that one time when you use the form.

Maybe others here can share how they've gotten 3 free snipes by referring someone. Chime in.

If you check the box to send an email autmatically when you win an auction, there is an invitation to join auctionsniper to the seller.

I hope that doesn't violate any eBay policies but I guess if you win alot of auctions, you have a good chance of one of your sellers joining.

It probably wouldn't hurt to include a link to AS in your reply mail too. You'd be surprised how many people don't know about sniping.
I agree with Mrs. M. Believe it or not, I received one of those emails from one of my buyers and was a little put off by it. I wasn't mad that she sniped, but that she in a way was bragging or advertising the fact. I've done my share of manual snipes, sitting there at the end of the auction with two windows open. Refreshing til the last min. then hitting that submit button in the last 30 seconds of the auction. But I never told the seller I did that! I dunno, to me the fact that I use AS is not something I broadcast to anyone and everyone. If a friend wants to know how I did it, I'll tell them. That's just me. Anyway, as a seller I didn't appreciate getting the email. BUT it did bring me to this site and my buyer got the credit because I used her reference to sign on. Kind of ironic in my case. I don't have emails sent to sellers when I win an auction. I'll pass the word about AS on my own terms. JMO Cool

for the advice, Mrs. M. I haven't gone wrong yet with your advice, so I won't stop now.

I can see why they'd be mad. They encourage bidding wars even if they oversell an item. I've sold things for 3x what they were worth and I tiptoed with the buyer until I got positive feedback.

Personally, I think they should remove feedback from users that are no longer registered. It might balance the system. Cool

I know exactly what you mean about that. I've had the same thing happen. I'm thrilled to have made some $$ on the deal. But I'm always afraid the buyer is going to realize they overpaid and express their disappointment in their feedback. Heck, it's happened to me as a buyer myself where I've overpaid for something, then kick myself for being so stupid. In those cases I left positive that said something non-committing like "item received, thank you." I remember using Buy It Now for a tiny dollhouse for my daughter. I paid $15 with shipping for the damn thing. Paid instantly with Paypal right after the auction ended, then left to do my grocery shopping at Walmart. An hour later I found at Walmart the same exact dollhouse I'd just paid for on ebay and it was only $5.00. Eek Live and learn, huh? I don't know where this post is going. Sorry, I just got to rambling as I so often do. Big Grin
I found that when I spoke with a seller at work (1500+ on e-bay) about my frustrations he pointed me to auction sniper. Since then I have found several others interested in the idea. I made up some busniss card size pieces of paper to hand out when someone is interested. At some point you will need to contribute to the company the small fee they ask. as well as the service of being able to change, retract, rebid auctions with no ill effects on your user rating in e-bay. This is a great tool. I want the company to do well So I can continue as well. Big Grin
I just wanted to respond to coralbelle's remark...

Not having a dig at you personally or anything - but - that really isnt the sellers fault and I dont think your feedback is really fair. I mean, its not like you are giving them a neg or neut, so its not like the feedback you are leaving is incorrect. I just think its a bit mean to leave non commital feedback when you got carried away in the moment.

I often sell things for way over what I expected and I find that its to people who live in remote areas who dont have access to the major chains.

Anyways dont pay much attention to me - I am in Sellers hell at the moment Razz

Sara,

Actually, I did get three free Snipes from Auction Sniper without referring a friend.

I accomplished something with AS that they had not been able to consistently do.

They asked me how I did it. I wrote back a detailed description of the steps taken to your support department.

And, you guys gave me three free Snipes.

I will try to come up with some more ideas, so I never pay AS. Razz

I wonder how much those "birdhouses" would have fetched if you listed the item yourself and resold it on eBay. P.T. Barnum said, "there's a sucker born every minute."

Not necessarily a "sucker" in this case. There are items you can buy in the dollar store that aren't available to other places in the country. Some might be willing to pay more because they like the item and others because they get the "fever."

In a retail store, it would be outrageous if a person came in, saw my item for sale, and told me I was selling it too low and they wanted to pay much more than I was asking.

On the other hand, if it were the last one, and two people wanted it, would I be wrong to sell it to the highest bidder? It also wouldn't be outrageous for the first person to buy the item, then turn right around and sell it to person two for more than they paid.

No one is going to stand in line to tell me I'm asking too little. Only customers can decide an item's true worth. That is capitalism at it's finest. The only difference is you can't take it back because you paid too much.

Guess I should have changed my ME page when I was done having my temper tantrum Big Grin

I had quit selling on eBay after their idiot rep killed my 300+ storefront listings because she mistook my 'there is no bidding, just buy it now' as attempting to sell off of eBay! I asked her.. why the f*** did the button say 'BUY IT NOW'? Confused It turns out that she, an employee of ebay.. had never even HEARD of a eBay storefront! Mad I had MANUALLY entered all of these items, and after all of those hours working on getting them listed and having them all deleted with no quick and easy way of recovery really pissed me off Mad
