Hey Guys,
Question from me to anyone who can help. How, or indeed can I search eBay to show results with no bids?
I am looking to impulse buy a bargain. As of yet I don’t know what I want but I want it cheep, and I want it now, and preferably with free post and packing (well you never know)
Thanks in advance to all you sages who are reaching for your keyboards at this moment.
May you live in interesting times

Still can't get the dammn search engine to do what I want so I thought I would ask eBay and see what they said.
Hello Steve,

Thank you for taking the time to write to eBay.
I understand that you would like to search for items with zero bids on
it.
Please understand that you cannot filter items with zero bids. However
you can filter which newly listed or listed in one hour.
On the search results page(left hand side(middle of the page), you can
get the option of 'Ending with in 1 hours' there you have to select
'started with in 1 hour' from the box and click on 'show items' below.
Steve, I trust that the above information answers your query to your
satisfaction.

Kind regards,

Prathmesh V.

So any ideas ???

I shall hold my breath until someone replies.

With all due respect (which doesn’t necessarily denote a compliment) to Prathmesh V., but using a min of “0” and a max of “0” brings up only items with no bids – for me. Perhaps we are using different ebay search pages? Maybe different countries? Something must be different other than Prathmesh V. Maybe leave a link of your search page? Maybe leave the other search criteria you are using? Anything but more special effects – don’t think I could stand living in more interesting times. After all, there’s no CPR clause in this forum’s ToS.

P.S. The dog sends his regrets.
[Right now this is where it gets interesting (see interesting is good) I have used eBay.co.uk and it is as told by Prathmesh V. I can't make the dammn thing search no bids.
BUT I went to eBay.com (I did this because your accent suggests you are from the USA of America) and you are spot on because it gave me a no bid list. After filtering out the buy it now's and arranging it by ending soonest I had my list.
Now all I have to do is get eBay.com to search eBay.co.uk and we are cooking with gas.
Only thing now is I can't remember what it was I wanted to buy.
And another thing… can you have a word with that drunken dog and explain the rules vis-à-vis the barrel of booze.
I am going outside now, I may be some time.
I must have misspelled humor – that always gives away my accent.

I just brought up ebay.co.uk and did two searches. In both searches I specified “dvd sealed” in “Enter keyword or item number” and checked “Search title and description” (all other values were the defaults). When I left “Number of Bids” blank, I got 74,929 hits. When I specified “0” in both “Min” and “Max” I got 45,378 hits. I didn’t look at all 45,378 (I’m obsessive, but not that much) but the first 400 auctions didn’t have any bids – honest (have I ever lied to you before?).

And, I’d appreciate kinder words about my dog since his drinking problem was primarily induced by Prathmesh V.’s handling of this issue.
Now we are shopping with gusto. Not quite what I wanted because being greedy I wanted to see everything with no bids instead of specific items but what the hell I shall have to decide what sort of bargain thing I am looking for before I look for it.
(I have just had to read what I hade written twice just to make sure it made sense, and I am still not sure)
Now in the best Hollywood tradition I shall dish out thanks.
First I would like to thank Rick a Sniper Deity for helping me with this problem.
Then my thanks go out to "Uncle Billy" Gates for all of his efforts to make the world a better place.
My Mum is the next person on the list (this is only because she said she would hit me with her walking stick if I didn't)
And finally I would like to thank the un-named dog that put its life on the line to deliver aid to me. I say I would like to but I aint because the dirty dog drunk all of the life saving booze and is now sulking in its basket waiting for a refill of his barrel.

Sorry in advance.

FX slamming of BIG door, footsteps fading slowly into the distance overlaid by sad whistling of "show me the way to go home"
Sorry to call you back from whistling, BUT …

In the search field you could use words like “the”, “and”, “it”, “mint”, and “rare” (you know, words that appear in practically all auctions) using an “or” relationship. It sounds like you don’t mind searching thru a lot of auctions, but I guess limiting it to auctions ending in the last hour or so wouldn’t be so bad. Actually, sitting here thinking about it, it sounds like a great idea.

Dog’s name is Boozer. He recently admitted himself to an alcohol rehab program, something like a K-9 Betty Ford (big deal in the States) Clinic. We’ve just celebrated his 2nd minute of sobriety. He’s getting thru the delirious tremors remarkably well, but still hallucinates that he’s a human.
