Help! I think I'm up against a sniper.

My auction does not end until tomorrow, but I think the person I'm bidding against is a sniper. I've checked his buying profile and he puts in a low bid early and then at the last minute swoops in for the kill. What do I do? My highest price bid is the max of what I am willing to pay. Any chance ebay will not be able to handle 2 snipers at the last minute? Who would win?

High bidder, with consideration given for the impact of ebay's bid increments. In case of tie, first bidder, so an earlier snipe would make a difference.

Think of your max, add a few cents/pence (to eliminate any risk of a tie), place your snipe and walk away - it's not the last bid that wins, it's the highest.

And if this is a 'must have' then bid manually!
