Welcome to the forum, Bonnie! Whenever you make an error, there is a little pad and pencil icon on the bottom right of your posted message. You can click there and correct it. Most of us make plenty of errors!

You can't change a proxy placed on Ebay and that is one great thing about AS. you can change your mind right down to the last three minute mark!

You can place a snipe along with your proxy bid, but if you have proxied the most you are willing to pay, I don't see as it would be of any use. Just wait until your next auction and start here! As will save you a lot of money! At least, it has me! No more bidding wars!

So, if I've got this right, if the bids go above the maximum I've proxied with eBay, and I really want this item (which I most definitely do!) then I can use AS to go a little bit further for me. (I was a wee bit mean with my max proxy )

Yes, you can, but when you place your snipe make it for your absolute max and in an odd amount such as 21.51 instead of 20.00, as an example is a good thing to do. You can often win this way. I set my snipes at 8 seconds during normal times and add 10 to 15 during busier times. Busier times are usually on Sunday between 5:30 and 8 PST, on the hour, half, or quarter hour also. But that is just my
personal 2cents worth. Also, most of us turn off the instamail that was checked on your signup page, so if you didn't , you might want to do so. BTW, next time, forget the Ebay bid, use only AS! Good luck! (sorry about the strane paragraphing!( Infopop is doing some weird things on the post right now!)

I haven’t had as much practice at it, but first, read this post, then click on “Go” (top of page), select “My Space”, then click on “Profile”, then click on “View/Edit Complete Profile”. Roll down to “Avatar / Picture URL” and click on “Edit”. Click on “Custom Avatar”. Key in URL. Click on “Update Avatar” (plus or minus clicks here and there might be needed to do the trick).

OH - I think you may have to click on the "Submit" thingy at the bottom of the edit profile page and you may have to click on "Select This One" on the "Avatar Selection" pop-up.

GG, I was trying to find a way to incorporate Mrs.M.into it. I tried a few, but tey didn't show up when I put the there.

It isn't hard, GG. If you go to your profile and in the top right, choose edit profile, then scan to the bottom and choose to edit your avatar, the rest is follow through. You can select custom avatar above the avatar pixs and then just put your url of the one you want in the box marked for it, then follow it through and don't forget to enter the submit button at the end. It won't change on the posts until you add a new post or edit one.

Trevor - rarely do I welcome people to the forum (it's not that I'm rude, it's just that the place is full of enthusiastic Americans who will welcome you with a multitude of animated gifs so I need not bother!) but I guess that you're a Brit from your flag so 'hello mate'!

You'll find that AS as a product leans towards .COM rather than .CO.UK or .AU but I am constantly badgering them to get this changed.
