I'm a newbie!!! So I claim complete ignorance to all Sniper Warfare Tactics. I've been trying to read several of the forum discussion comments to get some useful advice before my snipes will hit so I don't make stupid mistakes. One of you stated that 8 second snipes worked well for you, so I set up my non-Sunday snipes for that time. However, I do have an auction that is over at approx 2:30pm pst this Sunday (03/09). So, should I set up my snipe for 30 sec for this particular one? Also you stated that Fridays we should probaby just proxy bid. Am I correct so far? If not, please grab hold and turn me in the right direction!!!

Nikki, I'm the one who said he uses an 8-second snipe. You can get some advance idea of how busy eBay is by searching for items, bringing them up, and so on to see how long the process takes. But Sundays are characteristically the busiest for eBay, so I personally wouldn't take a chance on just 8 seconds no matter what. I'd recommend a longer snipe time, maybe not 30 seconds (that's for Sunday evenings) but 15 or 20. Be sure to bid your max no matter what interval you select.

Good luck! Smile
PS -- Proxy bids on Fridays are only for the period of time when eBay takes the program down for overhauling. Any bid on an auction that closes while eBay is down (2AM-4AM Pacific time, I think) will be won by a bid that was entered prior to 2AM. Hence, only proxy bids win at a certain time on Fridays. Sniping is OK before and after those hours.
