I've read the latest on group snipes, and I still don't get it! How do I just designate the type of item clearly that i want, the quantity, and my max bid for the item(s). Do i have to fill in each item ebay #, and if so what is the sense of group snipes?

Yes, you must enter information for each auction.

Putting items in a bid group allows you to enter several auctions and to specify how many you want to win.

Let's suppose you found 5 gizmos listed. You only want one of them, but all the auctions end on Monday while you are at work. You can put all five auctions into a bid group and specify a quantity of one. AS will continue to bid on each auction untill you win one. After your win, AS will automatically cancel your snipe for all remaining auctions.

Without a Bid Group you could not enter a snipe for more than one of the auctions, without taking the chance of winning more than one.
