Free Snipe Friday January 2nd 2004

Good question. I was wondering the same thing.

Does that mean Entered into AS system for the future, or Entered as in 'Sent to eBay'.

My gut tells me it's 'Sent to eBay'. I think 'Snipes Entered' = 'Bid Placed'. Sara mentioned we should receive an e-mail about it. Did anyone get one?

It would be a much more complicated programming task to base it on the date "entered" into AS, and would also lead to arguments as to when they were "entered". I read it as any snipes "executed" on Friday.

I got an email, Puppy. I read it as Rick did.

Snipes added on Friday are free.

Snipes we send to eBay we call 'placing' a snipe. Snipes placed friday arent free, unless you entered/added them on Friday as well.

So in short, any snipe you enter/add/put into our system on Friday will be free, reguardless of the day it ends on.

What if I entered my snipe on Friday 2 January, but modify it later, before the end of the auction?

It'll still be free, you can modify it. Just dont delete it. Make sure you use the Edit button to change the price.

In the balance of my account, I have a couple of snipes which I cancelled/replaced last Friday and they all show as Paid ? Do I miss something ?

Oh well, after all it's only 25 cents- snipes for CDs, but that's the reason why we snipe huh...

He said it was Friday so maybe it had something to do with it.

Sorry to say that I don't have my answer. Based on both your quote and Sara's previous posts on the subject, these snipes shouldn't show as "Paid", while they still do.

Timezone shouldn't be much of a concern either, since I (re-)placed my snipes around mid-day if I remember well.

I will fill a case at AS support and see how it turns.
