...we should have a poll every week or 2. Now who will be doing the data analysis? You know; averages, means, stand deviations, stuff like that?

Just my feelings, but I DO like the laid back mood of the forums... in the General area.
That's the place for chit chat and play.
Support is for getting answers to questions or solutions to problems. We need to stay on topic. Someone posting there isn't usually interested in much more than that. If you disagree with an answer posted, of course chime in. It's also assuring to get a second or third post that says 'Yes, I agree'. A simple 'Welcome' is also nice at the beginning or end of a post, but if you have nothing to add or if you want to talk about something else, keep out.
Questions Answers & Advice can be a little less formal than support I think. This is where the 'Welcomes' belong. I think a post to ONLY say hi, or welcome, is great. We still need to stay generally on topic, and perhaps add an invitation to move to the general area for play.
General area... well read the description... Anything goes.
100% correct!

I agree with
However....I think we lose alot of potential contributors when the other *boundaries* are adherred to. Its informative - yes, but not particularly conducive of ongoing participation.
Often you will see that a question thread has gone from informative, to play, then the OP comes back and thinks *wow* this is a nice place, friendly blah blah blah...and hangs out.
The support thread, yeah it should be a bit more rigid, and maybe the *regs* shouldnt go bizserk and take over in all different directions. But I still like the lay back outlook, its more conversation promoting

In all fairness, this poll deserves equal billing.
