I placed my first snipe recently, and am very very happy with the results.
I am liquidating a relative's antique items, and I wanted a particular set of reference books (for identity of the items more than price). We agreed to split the costs of the books at approximately $200. I set my high bid for $201.99 and won the auction with a high bid of $69.92.
There were 16 other bids, and I had an appointment so I was unable to manually snipe. I googled auction sniper and set up everything, and took care of the common first time user problems in <45 minutes, including validating the address and contacting support for assistance.
I have since sniped other items, and won some and lost some. Since I am in front of a computer all day, I can manually snipe, but have established a Paypal fund for auction sniper, since it relieves me of the pressure of having to be at my computer.
Again, a delightful introduction to a product that worked for me with significant savings and a happy relative to boot.
