I sniped a high ticket item in march for 5 dollars. Now, I snipe the same item and it cost me $10.

I'm not aware of any increase in AS' fees, but you'll need to file a support request to close your account:

You didn't state the final bid amounts on the two items; that is what AS's fee is based upon. The higher the final bid, the higher the fee.

Hmmm, I really should take a look at the fee schedule as I never paid any attention to it. The fee is so minimal compared to the item price and the huge increase in the probably of winning the item with the snipe makes it worthwhile; especially when the item arrives at your door.
