It seems to me that feedback sniping would lead to less and less people leaving feedback. A lot of people will wait for you to leave feedback first before leaving it. Maybe they want the chance to retaliate just in case, I don't know. And then, of course, some don't leave it at all. But feedback sniping would probably cause some people not to leave any since they're waiting on your feedback first.
I know I've failed to leave feedback for someone who very seriously deserved it because they had lots of positive feedback and I had very little. I was afraid to risk a retalitory negative.
And, at the risk of starting an argument, I'd seriously wonder about anyone who leaves enough negative feedback that they'd hire a feedback sniping service to leave it for them. There are a few people out there who leave plenty of negatives in return for positives and I'd hate to see someone like that with such a tool.
That's just my humble opinion, and it's liable to start an argument, but....
Drastic measures.
I'm referring to those bidders
who like to retaliate with feeds,
specifically this person with
a -1 neg under his-her belt.
He/she has been given a neg
for not responding to the seller
and, the buyer, retaliating with
one as well. I've filed a NPB alert
against this buyer and I'm foreseeing
a similar scenario with yours truly,
one I want to avoid!
I will wait 90 days as I usually do
with my ghosts bidders and thus give 'em
plenty of opportunities to do the right
thing. Capisce?

cl, what I'm talking about is that such a service wouldn't only be available for that one purpose. It would be available to everyone for whatever purpose they wanted to use it for--the good, the bad, and the ugly. And, unfortunately, there are some ugly people out there on E-Bay, the same as anywhere else. That's what I'm concerned about. If it's possible to find a way to corrupt/abuse something, sure as shootin' someone will find it.
Greetings all,
eBay policy is that feedback may be left up to 90 days after end of auction...
I have heard of people that wait until the eleventh hour to leave their negatives in the hope they won't be noticed until to late for the recipient to respond.

I've also heard that the 90 day limit is only a guideline...that is to say, that eBay guarantees information to stay in the system for at least ninety days before they clear the cache.

Sometimes they don't do that until well after the 90 days are up.

So...you pay your money and take your chances.... just don't be too surprised if you get blasted back.

I have always found that if your honest and unemotional in your feedback and responses, people can see who the real culprit is.

By the way...AS Rules!

Eek Eek Eek

I've been wondering about that. I've had a hard time believing that ebay dropped the ability to give feedback EXACTLY 90 days, zero hours, zero minutes, and zero seconds after the close of the auction. I wasn't sure if the 90 days meant 3 months, or 90 calendar days.

Also, I wasn't sure that after feedback was left, ebay wouldn't extend the 90.00 days to 90.01+ days.

"I have always found that if your honest and unemotional in your feedback and responses, people can see who the real culprit is." Amen!

I've thought about it: this IS akin to shooting someone in the back!
