I had a 27$ bid set into my sniper and timed for 5 secs til close auction on Ebay. The auction finished up at 14$ and I got a message saying I did not win. I went through to Ebay and the item did indeed finish at 14$ and my bid, wish would probably though not certainly have won, was not lodged.

I have credit in my sniper account and won another auction later that day. But can anyone explain what could have gone wrong. This auction was a money maker for me as a badly listed item that would have made a good resale with a different marketing. Its annoying but not critical. But had this been a big money item or a rare not to be seen again item, I'd be tearing my hair out.

Any experiences along these lines?

Hi Daddy (feels strange saying that to a stranger) if you are in Australia there are so many problems with ebay here at present.

The boards are full of complaints of people not being able to sign in, bid, my msgs not being received, sniping programs not being able to place snipe etc....the list goes on.

It is absolute chaos Mad

What??? I have not seen any chaos here! My snipes have all been placed and not being able to sign into eBay for a brief period is hardly chaos! I asked a friend of mine in AU and he has not been having any problems either.

From ebay Australia:

From ebay U.S.:

From forum (maybe related):
https://community.auctionsniper.com/eve/forums/a/tpc...5608021/m/7631098441
To start with...My messages have not been working properly for days,no sign of them anywhere and buyers/sellers not receiving them, cannot log in cookie problem, when finally get through get sent to a landing page and cannot go anywhere; if refresh page or add to watch list you are logged out and process starts all over again. Selling manager pro not working and the list goes on...and on

It is happening only on ebay Australia & they have had techs working on problem non stop.
I was only commenting to the member that if he was in Oz this could be the problem as other members on OZ forums reported snipes not being placed through their various programs because of the above.

If our forums (and facts) had been CHECKED before making ridiculous comments of "overkill" and "get a life" you would have seen that people were very frustrated and angry.

Anyway, I definately will not be coming back here again as I found the comments rude, insulting and uncalled for.....great way to treat another member Mrs M.

Rick thankyou for showing the links. The one from Ebay Australia stated the problem was fixed and if you read the forums below it became worse after their fixing Frown
Cheers

Here are a couple of threads from the OZ RT forum there are more on other boards

http://forums.ebay.com.au/thread.jspa?threadID=50000314...=0&mod=1135130130394

http://forums.ebay.com.au/thread.jspa?threadID=50000299...=0&mod=1135132309432

If you look at the dates on the above forums, sign in problems etc have been happening for 3 days! I would call that chaotic Wink

PS Looks like techs might have fixed the problems....lets hope so, it was nearly a revolt Wink

Aussie_girl,

I enjoyed your stay. If you decide to come back, you won’t be the first (there’s been several) to have said they were leaving and then later returned.

P.S. – I guess you were right about ebay problems, at least it was server related.

GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
Hope it won’t be too hot on the East Coast of OZ. I think white X-mas’ are overrated. They may make it more appealing to turn on the fireplace, but it’s a bummer to drive in, and running over a bell-ringing, money-collecting Santa can really mess up a person’s day, not to mention the damage it does to the car bumper.
Aussie's Closing Statement: Hey I may be young but I know the facts with regard to my own country Wink
Case closed....moving right along......

Thankyou Rick & Shop for the holiday wishes.

Merry Christmas to all Big Grin

Just want to share something with you all...my mum passed away recently which has has left a large void in my life. To compensate for this I decided to carry on mum's special Xmas tradition which is.....total up the money spent on Xmas gifts and give the equivalent to charities which you feel passionate about. It is amazing the feeling you get from doing this and you do receive something - the true meaning of Xmas returns, being that of Goodwill.

I will leave you with a bit of Aussie humour from our forums.....

Cheers....and keep the parties rolling

Aussie
Thanks Mrs M for your thoughts. Mum was a fabulous person who was admired & respected by many. If I end up being 1/2 the person she was I will be very lucky , but I can have a wicked sense of humour which mum called my individuality stamp.

Have decided to change mum's Xmas policy next year. Thinking that instead of giving any presents .....donate money in persons name & give them receipts along with an award type template which will state what the funds can achieve eg feed a child for 2 months, save an animal from slaughter etc. Would like to get my young nieces/nephews along this line of thinking before they end up with the $$$$$ syndrome.

I would love to see others adopting this policy as it stops the greed and expectations and re-creates the true meaning of Xmas which unfortunately has been long gone. Frown Also the gifts that you give will last a long longer than the toys, chocolates etc.

Glad you enjoyed the cartoon Rick & Jabber Wink

BTW how do you load a photo directly onto page without having a link (using photobucket). As I am only a buyer with ebay never really had to use it and their help button really does not show you a step by step method.

It's shaping up to be a hot one in OZ, only 8.30am (which is really 7.30am as we are on daylight saving time) and already over 30 degrees C phew!! I can hear those power meters whirring away already Wink

Hi Aussie,

Not sure this is the right answer, but if you want this to happen:

… then you would specify this:

Can't be any spaces.

P.S. I just thought of something. A Mad could also represents what Santa looks like while making
deliveries in his convertible. Think about - I’ve never seen him depicted with a ski mask (and with
that get up, he would probably be taken for a terrorist). So, it must get awfully chilly for him.
Thankyou Rick that is exactly what I wanted Smile
I reckon you are right about Santa definately a Red Face and by Xmas Eve Mad

A terrorist Santa.......ummm would definately be delivering boxes but not the kind people are expecting. I have to get off the terrorist subject topic makes me too riled, and being a lioness (starsign Leo) with a Viking background makes me the most feared in the jungle. Eek

Aussie,

In case you don’t already know, you can also start a “Photo Album” topic if you have multiple pictures you want to post. Here’s an example:
https://community.auctionsniper.com/eve/forums/a/tpc...85608021/m/657109793
If you're interested, click on “New” towards the topic of the forum you want to post the pictures, then click “Photo Album”. Looks like it will walk you through it. I’ve never done this, so that’s about the limit of my tech support ability.
Aussie,

There appears to be some benefits to Photo Albums. I think the pictures are downloaded to the forum, so there’s less concern about taxing your monthly Photobucket bandwidth and disk space. Also, should you drop your Photobucket account, instead of leaving all those little red X’s that are scattered throughout the forum, the pictures would still be available to the forum. And, it may be faster to open up a Photo Album then individual pictures, but that would require a techie’s insight to verify. I would think all of that is desirable.
Aussie,

I can’t see any way to add a Photo Album to an existing thread. “New” at the top only allows starting a new thread, either Discussion, Poll, Private Message, or Photo Album, and the “Reply” at the bottom of a thread doesn’t appear to support a Photo Album. You could always start a new thread for the Photo Album and put the album's link in the “Adhesive bras!!!!!” topic?
