Ends on or after - The auction listings display the scheduled closing time for the auction. If there is bidding activity on the auction within fifteen (15) minutes of when the auction is scheduled to close, the auction automatically switches into a special mode analogous to the 'going, going, gone' period of a live auction. In this mode, the auction is automatically extended until there have been no bids placed within fifteen (15) minutes. When fifteen (15) minutes have passed with no bidding activity, the auction closes.

Has anyone heard if eBay plans to implement this?

Guy,

Ebay Germany implemented a policy where a seller could refuse to honor an auction if the seller could determine if sniping software was used. It appears that ebay U.S. lets other countries try these goofy things to see if they will be successful. This is the only change that has been done, and it didn't extend the auction time. Also, it appears that the German sellers rarely enforces this, because how can they prove it?

This has come up from time to time on this forum, but it's just wild gossip. Sniping is a cultural feature in ebay. At their size, it seem impossible to believe that ebay would ever eliminate it. I'd put it under the-sky-is-falling category.
