edit or modify? | Auction Sniper

Here's an easy one...on the page listing current snipess, what is the difference between the "edit" button and the "modify" button?? They both seem to do the same thing. What am I missing here?

Click on "modify" next to each item and you can edit/modify that item.

Click on "edit selected" and you get to edit/modify all the items you've checked.

Same result but slightly different ways of doing it.

but what about the "edit" button that is right next to the "modify" button? There are 3 there - modify, edit & cancel. How is THAT edit button different from the modify?

I have [Add Note] [Modify] [Cancel]. When I add a note to a snipe, I then have [Edit Note] [Modify] [Cancel].
