Thanks Steve for answering my question. In reading the archives of the group, it became clear the setting of the snipe period is an art. Ebay is currently experiencing some instabilites that have yet to be fixed. Should I increase my snipe window from 5 seconds to maybe 8 or 10 seconds.
Can I snipe with the same registration as I use to place an auxilary bid?
Thanks to the forum for the help.

Aranger2 asks, "Should I increase my snipe window from 5 seconds to maybe 8 or 10 seconds."

I use 8 seconds and find it very satisfactory. The exception would be if I'm placing a bid on a Sunday afternoon or evening. Then I allow at least 30 seconds.

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask, "Can I snipe with the same registration as I use to place an auxilary bid?" You must always snipe with your eBay username and eBay password as registered with both eBay and AS.

True in the sense that it would work, but it will matter - your two identities would be bidding against each other raising the price to at least your lower bid plus one increment or (if the bids are the same or less than one increment apart) the level of your only or higher bid
