Does anyone else get daily search result e-mails directly from eBay? These used to contain new items listed in the past 24 hours or so, under one's favorite search topic. But now I get these e-mails several days after the items have been listed.

In the case of Buy It Now items, this often means that I found out about an item after is is already gone. The whole point of these e-mails was so that one did not need to manually search for new items every day, so this belated notification is not very helpful.

Comments, anyone? Anyone? Buellar? Buellar? Red Face

I only use the "search results by email" for particularly obscure stuff that I want, but am not too bothered if I miss it, for example a particular artist's CD which I know will come around again soon enough; OR I use them to keep an eye out for others selling similar stuff to me (because then it is most useful to look at the items after auction-end to see what the other seller got for them etc).

For stuff that I really want to buy and care more about, I have a series of "search now" bookmarks/favorites (you can bookmark any number of ebay searches, don't have to use their "save this search" feature) which I quickly check each day. I have them set up to display sorted by listing time so that I see all the newly listed stuff first (irrespective of end time). I make a point of quickly clicking one of the top five or so items in each search (whether I am interested or not); since I always do this from the same PC, the next day when I try the same search it is easy to see where I got up to the previous day because one of yesterday's most-recently-listed-items will now show up as a "visited" link in a different colour, if you know what I mean.

Works much better than relying on searches-by-email for categories or complex searches in which you have a very high interest.
