I recently purchased an item on eBay using an Auctionsnipe and won. All my dealings on the ebay site are from one e-mail address and all my dealings with Auctionsniper are done through another e-mail address (Auctionsniper reports actions, wins, outbids, etc. to e-mail address number2 which is not in my ebay records). After I won, I received a commmunication from the seller at my auctionsniper e-mail address, criticizing auctionsniper users in general. How did the seller know I had placed a bid through AuctionSniper and how did he get the e-mail address I use for AuctionSniper?

Warthog, your answer lies in the "Instamail" feature of AS, which you obviously don't have switched off. Click on "Modify Options" on the main sniper page and scan down until you see "Instamail". There's a bullseye check-off that you should UNselect. Basically, having it selected allowed AS to send a message to the seller which said that the purchase was done through Auction Sniper. I'm not sure, but I'll bet that it was signed with your AS e-mail address.
