I placed a snipe on a dutch auction, and my snipe history indicates "Did Not Win". Imagine my surprise when I received an email from ebay confirming me as one of the winners. Also my ebay ID is listed as a winner in the auction results & bid history. Has anyone else had this happen with a dutch auction?

Seems you did win after all well done!

I had a Did not Win tonight but AS just failed to place the snipe - usual platitudes from AS staff so no idea what went wrong. That's the 1st time AS has let me down as far as I can remember (covers Arse in case Rick is watching!) which is a real shame but ho hum, never mind!

I‘m sincerely sorry to see that your snipe on item #220093946990 was unable to be placed by Auction Sniper. While there were no widespread system problems at this time, this appears to be a case of our system being unable to place your bid on time.

We snipe from an atomic clock, which calibrates our servers. We snipe every auction not once but from 3 different servers and locations. 2 of them snipe exactly on time and 1 server tries to adjust for ebay server lag according to how long their average server is taking. In this situation, unfortunately, our system underestimated the lag time of the eBay server that accepted your bid and, as a result, the auction ended before the bid could be accepted.
