double sniping | Auction Sniper

Pardon if this is in already, but......
If an item is at, say 50, I put in a snipe for ,say, 80. Another sniper puts in, say, 70.
My understanding is that the two snipers will keep 'firing' until my bid is 71, and I win.
Yes, no? Or is there not enough time to keep going back and forward?

You've almost got it!

Yes, you MAY win for $71. (or more) Remember that $50 bidder? You don't know what his MAX is. If it's 75, you would win for $76. If it's $100, HE will win for $81.

AS only fires once for each of you. Bids placed are for your max, and are proxy bids. The proxy process is handled by eBay.

Of course it's a proxy bid! If I just thought about these things, I probably wouldn't have to bug people for answers........duh!
