Double snipe

Yeesh, talk about your queueing theory! You're dealing with two sets of computers, one set belonging to AS and the other belonging to eBay. Assuming that both bids set up on AS are submitted at exactly the same instant (which I guess is possible since more than one computer is involved) then the outcome depends partly on whether eBay receives them at the same instant. Assuming further that the bids are identical in amount, then the one that eBay's computers registers first would be the higher bid of the two. I have no idea whether it would be possible for two eBay computers to register separate bids on the same item at the same time but somehow I doubt it.

Ok, I understand the technical aspects of it, but what I was wondering is if AS computers are set-up to recognize and avoid a situation like this. my reason for comming up with this question is that I put the AS logo/link on my auction listing to hopefully get some more bids at the end,(and free snipes) but then I thought.. hmm... what if 2 or 3 or 4.... people all think this is a cool way to do it and all put bids in through AS. It is a possibility I could actually hurt my auction if bids were lost in cyberspace. on a collector car its not worth a few free snipes, but its too late now unless i cancel my auction to remove the logo/link.
